Capital Steps for Kids Pedometer Challenge

Nemours is providing the opportunity for children, advocates, and health care providers to receive free pedometers. These pedometers will be used to track the total number of steps walked for children's issues during the 2010 Florida Legislative Session to raise awareness and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

Participants at official Children's Week events and activities across the state will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary pedometer and track the total number of steps walked for children's issues during the 2010 Florida Legislative Session.

Dozens of Children's Week local events participate in the Nemours Pedometer Challenge to promote healthy, active lifestyles. Click here to view a listing of Children's Week events and activities in your community. To organize a walk in your community and to receive complimentary pedometers, please fill out an event submission form.

Nemours will announce the total number of steps during the 2010 Hanging of the Hands Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 9 a.m. inside the State Capitol Rotunda. Last year, Nemours announced a total of 8.5 million steps walked for children's issues during the Florida Legislative Session.

Advocates, policy makers, teachers, children and parents can receive complimentary pedometers at local Children's Week event by utilizing the Nemours Pedometer Challenge Form or submitting the total number of steps walked by Friday, April 9, 2010 using the electronic form below:
